At S&M Hardwood, we treat your home with the same respect we treat a 15,000 sq. ft. commercial resort. To ensure your installation goes smoothly and stays on schedule, please review and complete this checklist before our crew arrives.

• [ ] AC is On: Your HVAC system must be operational and set between 65°F and 75°F for at least 48 hours prior to installation.
• [ ] Acclimation: If we delivered your wood or LVP early, do not move it. It needs to "breathe" in the environment where it will be installed.

• [ ] Clear the Floor: Remove all small items, "knick-knacks," and breakables from the tops of furniture and the floor. remove items from under beds and empty drawers of breakable items. 
• [ ] Closets & Storage: Please clear the floors of all closets receiving new flooring.
• [ ] Electronics: Disconnect all computers, TVs, and surround sound systems. (Our crews are masters of flooring, but we aren't IT experts!)

• [ ] Appliances: Gas appliances must be disconnected by a certified plumber. For refrigerators, please ensure the water line is disconnected.
• [ ] Furniture Moving: If you have opted for our furniture moving service, please ensure all dresser drawers and cabinets are empty.

• [ ] The "Paw" Protocol: For the safety of our crew and your furry friends, please ensure pets are secured in a room not receiving flooring or off-site for the day.
• [ ] Power & Water: Please ensure we have access to functional electrical outlets and a water source.
• [ ] Point of Contact: Ensure a decision-maker (18+) is present at the start of the job to confirm the layout and transition plan.

For our commercial partners, this checklist is even more vital. Large-scale glue-down projects require precise temperature controls to ensure the adhesive bonds permanently to the slab.

Our crew will perform a Pre-Start Walkthrough with you to verify the subfloor condition and transition points. If we find anything that doesn't meet our standards, we’ll discuss the solution before we proceed with the installation.
